Steve said: I received this call at 7:25pm on 4/25//2014. Attempting to pull my phone out of a new phone case, I accidentally answered my phone. My phone showed that I was "on" for three seconds. I was (am) worried that it is one of those foreign numbers that charges you hundreds or even thousands per minute. That's the last thing I need!! I feel better after reading that it is probably a telemarketer.

Come on scammers, if you're going to do this, be smart! Spoof your Caller Id to be something from Washington DC, change the number from $8,400 occassionally and LEARN ENGLISH! While I was on the phone with her, a quick Google search of $8400 turned up over 1000 scam hits. I politely hung up because, after all, I just paid my taxes and knew there was now way in hell the governement was just handing out $8,400 to random people.

Said that I had been awarded a $8,400 from the U.S. Treasury O.K.? No reason was given. There was a lot of talking in the background probably a lot of others making the same type calls. I told them to stop calling and that I was reporting them. I doubt this will stop them, just hoping they stop calling me!

He said my membership expired in Nov, and when I told him that's nonsense, I renewed it on time, he said, "That's right--so THAT'S good...." So then why are you calling, I asked. He said, "Let me just check...," or something like that, then said NOTHING for what felt like at least a minute. Are you still there?, I said, and when he said yes, I said, "Well, it seems to be taking you an awfully long time, considering that YOU called ME, so I'm not sure you're really calling from the AAA, and I'm going to hang up now." THAT WAS 20 MINUTES AGO, AND HE NEVER CALLED BACK. ??? Could it have been a call legitimately made from the AAA offices but by an EMPLOYEE was up to not good??? Otherwise, why didn't he call me back? (and why didn't he have the slightest idea why he was supposed to be calling?)
