My computer is a work one and as soon as I asked him, "You do realize this is a business line?" he quickly confirmed what I said and hung up.
Anonymous ERB said: I, too, have been getting 20-30 calls A DAY from the 1-547-824-8963 area code saying they are Panda Antivirus for approximately the past 2 months. When that phone number rings, it mostly rings as a long distance ring, but recently it started ringing as a local call (which I accidentally answered), and sometimes calls from UNKNOWN NAME/UNKNOWN NUMBER with/without long-distance ring. They have taken over my phone with their constant scammer calls! Once, when I answered the "547" number, I said: "I do not have an active Panda Antivirus (I last purchased it in 2008), and I know you are a scam, I will not give you my info, so stop calling me", the person on the other end of the call with an "overseas" accent said: "OK, we will call you every day then"! That's when I noticed the calls increasing to 20-30 times/day, sometimes 5-6 times/hours.
I am also now getting constant calls from 1-202-030-6565 number that I have not yet answered (it has a valid area code from Washington D.C., but not a valid exchange "030"). I am also getting constant calls from 1-281-325-5615 which is a landline in Sugarland Texas. So, now with these 2 other added long distance numbers (area codes 547, 202, and 281), I wonder if the "Panda Scammers" are now calling from other area codes, or have passed my number to any other phone scammers. I do remember one recent long-distance caller with an "overseas accent" left a message threatening about going to jail over unpaid taxes if I don't call them back immediately...
Does anyone have any feedback, as I am missing my real calls from family members who call from long distance, as I have had to start ignoring the long distance ring. I would appreciate any sincere feedback. I understand the "547" area code is not a "real" area code.
