DULY said: Rec'd call this afternoon. Hung up when I answered. Caller ID just says Washington DC. According to whitepages.com this is a cell phone number. I have also been getting similiar calls from 202-607-2723. I am getting a very loud whistle and next time anyone calls from either number they are getting a little surprise.
shawie said: I receive a call daily from this number, usually while I'm away. The message that is left is a partial recording. I only can make out the last two numbers "she" is saying. When I did answer the phone when they called. No one responded to my greeting. I waited and waited then verbally requested they remove my name from the list (I was probably talking to air). No one in this household owes anyone. I would love to report them to the officials. They need to get their records straight and stop taking up my voicemail.
Annoyed! said: Caller said she was from some breast cancer foundation. I told her I'd never heard of it and she said they had a website and then started her spiel on how many women die of breast cancer.
I told her I supported the Susan G. Komen Foundation and she hung up.
I assume she was going to ask me for money.
Wasn't born yesterday said: Received a call from this number Nov. 14 2008 at 7:05 PM. Caller was attempting to sell me a subscription to my local Newspaper, the Albany Democrat-Herald (in Albany, Oregon) The call however, was from WASHINGTON DC.
Our local Paper DOES NOT I REPEAT DOES NOT cold call people for subscriptions. I know this as a first hand FACT.
THIS IS A SCAM CALL ATTEMPTING TO GET BANK AND/OR OTHER FINANCIAL INFO.
These groups apparently seem to be researching their target communities with GREAT DETAIL so as to fool the people they call into thinking it is legitimate. IT IS NOT.
