Phone Caller Type: Telemarketer

Offering to lower my credit card rating, I don't even have a credit card!!

they called me and i got the recording that said ".............Hello? Hello? can you hear me? Hello? I think something's wrong with my phone, i'll call you back."
I called the same phone number back and it is not in service.

Received an unsolicited telemarketing call from Puronics of Orlando, in direct violation of the federal Do-Not-Call list, which I'm on. This company goes by other names, most well known is Great Southern Water Treatment. Supposedly they have been fined in the past for violating the DNC list, and are abusive when you request they remove you from their call list.

I received a call from 1-212-786-6830 about 2:30 PM on 11-30-09. When I answered, no one spoke to say who or why they were calling. I kept saying hello, but still there was silence. Finally, after about a minute the call disconnected. Was this the first time I've received such a call? Hell no! I've received dozens of them just since the first of this year! I'm fed up and mad as hell so this is why I'm taking these first steps to try and put a stop to it. - I Googled the number which led to this site which has various descriptions of calls from 1-212-786-6830. I therefore decided to call the number. A young female answered. When I asked who have I reached, she said "EKN Financial Services." I next asked where are you located? She answered, "Long Island, N.Y." Then I asked, where exactly, and she said "Woodbury, New York." I then asked to speak to whomever is in charge and she connected me to another person. He identified himself as "Pat Ruotolo." In response to further questioning, he said he is the "Operations Manager." I explained what happened when someone called me from his company number. He admitted they have people calling for "cold leads," but added that he can not understand why someone would call and not say anything. I suggested that he look into the matter and also Google his number to check out this site and others like it to see the evidence of all the complaints about his people calling and not saying anything. He said he would look into it. For all intent and purposes, this company has now been put on notice and any one receiving calls from this date forward, need only contact the New York authorities (city, county state) and make a formal complaint. May I also suggest you contact your state and federal lawmakers to politely suggest they get off their a**es and write some enforceable laws against uninvited telephonic intrusion (trespassing) into private domains whether they be residential or business. Law makers ought to also go after the directory publishing division of AT&T. Why should anyone have to pay AT&T an added fee to keep from having their number listed in the phone directory? Instead of helping to control telemarketing plague, AT&T is aiding and abetting in its continued proliferation! AT&T gives new meaning to the terms "Protection Racket" and "Greedy Bastards." ABW

They called wanting to give me a free credit report. They had my name and address. Upon verifying, they wanted to read "the fine print", which included an "if you decide to cancel, just call" note.
Basically, they are selling credit monitoring services. This is a scam - they Bank of America was doing this "because they care", when in actuality, they are doing it to con unknowing people into signing up for paid services.

Same thing here. They've been calling since last week, about the same time every day. It's obvious from a number like that that they are hiding their identity. I refuse to answer these calls.
