phone company employee said: I just spoke to a woman w/ this on her bill - to answer your above question, at the phone company I work at - we CAN waive the charge fromy our phone bill, what this does it notifies the third party (in this case Quix Hour) and gives them your information that you are disputing the charge - you are no longer required to pay this on your phone bill, however! if the third party decides to rebill you directly, ie sending a statement from them directly to your home, they can do so. If you do not resolve the charge directly with them, and it remains unpaid - it can be sent to a collections agency.
did not call said: i did not call this number and got an $81 bill. They said the calls came from this number and when I talked to Bell, they said they can't do anything because the bill is from them. The circle comes back to me. How do I fight this.
Geordie said: My phone bill from Rogers showed long distance charges of $82.00 for calling Quiz Hour. There were 82 calls to 484 397 1932 charged at $1.00 per minute and the calls took place continuously for 49 minutes. How do they calculate the charges? The Quiz Hour should not be allowed on TV and Triton Global should be charged for this scam. Rogers was good enough to deduct these charges from my bill but will I receive a bill from Triton for calls I never made.
ffkt said: THIS IS A SCAM!!! PEOPLE! PLEASE DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY! I JUST GOT A PHONE BILL FOR OVER $60 IN CALLS TO THIS PLACE AND WE'VE -NEVER- CALLED THEM NOR HAVE WE HEARD ABOUT THEM AT ALL!!! IF YOU FIND THESE CALLS ON YOUR PHONE BILL LABELLED "THE QUIZ HOUR" PLEASE CALL YOUR PHONE COMPANY AND REPORT IT RIGHT AWAY. THERE ARE TONS OF REPORTS COMING IN ABOUT THESE PEOPLE. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT WITH SOME RESEARCH I'VE READ ABOUT PEOPLE THAT DO CALL IN TO THE SHOW AND SOME SAY THEY'VE WON, BUT CANNOT CLAIM THEIR PRIZE BECAUSE THE OPERATOR WILL NOT SPEAK OR GIVE OUT HER NAME OR LAST NAME OR EMPLOYMENT NUMBER WHATSOEVER! THIS IS A SCAM!!! IT WAS ON MY BELL PHONE BILL FOR MARCH 16TH OF 2013!!! BELL WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE CHARGES AS THEY DID NOT COME FROM OUR NUMBER AND THERE ARE OTHERS IN THE SAME SITUATION. THEY ARE APPARENTLY HOSTING ANOTHER SHOW THIS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY (MAY 11TH AND 12TH) ON CHCH TV. PLEASE SO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!! I ALSO READ THAT SOMEONE CALLED IN HUNDREDS OF TIMES AND THEY'RE CHARGED $1.00 PER CALL!!! BE SMART!!! I HOPE THIS HELPS!!! TAKE CARE AND GOOD LUCK!!!
Dianne W. said: Our local TV station, CHCH, features this programme at midnight on Sat. and Sun. Viewers are invited to phone in to solve puzzles for a large cash payout. Calls must be made from a land line, cell phone or through Rogers. This number dialed is never completed and does not go through to the show, and it is frustrating when I have the correct answers to all the quiz questions! The website for Quiz Hour has detailed information, except for the location of the company.
