My school uses this service to send our school announcements. I got a call last night on my cell phone. I was talking to someone and I was away from the phone when it rang. My son told me it rang. I wrote down the number so I could check it here.

A machine answered. The message started, "This is your last chance for low interest .... I hung up at that point.

I just received a call from this number today saying the same thing and when I called back they hung up on me. When I called back from my home phone it went busy and I never got back through. My husband called and was put on hold forever. He called back and let them know he was calling the police.

This company asks for my husband and as soon as I tell them he's not here they hang up. They have called every day, every half hour. They even called me at 231 in the morning.

Received a call around 13:30 GMT time. I'm not sure who it was. I called my sister in the States and asked if she called me and she said she didn't. Asked my friend in Thailand and she didn't call me either. I have tried receiving calls similar to this number before from my sister because she would normally call me through a telco. So her number will not appear but a different number will or sometimes an unknown word. But this time, it's not one of them. Who could that be?

Its even harder to trust a college recruiter who does cold calls.
He's the director there? Must be a slow day.

CALL 1
I got a call from these guys today. When they asked for the last 7 digits I said I didn't like to give those details over the phone and wanted to email them or call them back when after thinking about it. I ended the call. The site didn't exist.
CALL 2
I rang the Sydney number and posed as Allan Jones (that was the name the 'supervisor' used).
I toyed with them for a while then they realised (probably by caller ID) that it was really me. I apologised and said that was one of my other names, and that I liked to bulls*** a lot and screw with people. I kept them on the phone for almost 30 minutes giving them bogus numbers (and made them repeat it back 5 times telling them I needed it to be correct because I really wanted the holiday), hearking on that their website was non-existent, pulling them up on the fact that their domain name was registered late August and wasn't functional. They said the site was down for maintenance for 2-3 hours.
In the end I went through 5 operators in one call, and they eventually left me on hold and 'forgot' about me.
CALL 3
I didn't forget about them and called them back on another number asking to speak to Bevan (I made the name up). 'Brian' told me that he was Bevan's supervisor and that he was on lunch. I asked for Lucy and she too was unavailable. I said that was very strange that they should be away from the phone. I gave another name, to no avail. He asked who I called and I said "1 Vacation". He laughed and said I had called the wrong place. I laughed and said that was funny that three people in the one company would have the same name, and all be unavailable. He said it was funny and that sometimes these things happen.
CALL 4
My fourth phone call didn't eventuate because the number no longer ran. I'm hoping the lines will be open again tomorrow because I have a new persona to try out.
It only costs me 10c per call so I'll keep it up until I get bored.
