Phone Numbers Reported by db

I received a call for my son and notified them that my son is in physical rehabilitation and I am "attempting" to handle his affairs and field any calls/mail for him. When I called this company and explained the situation, they said that they are filing a summons for my son for an unpaid credit card bill that he supposedly had taken out in 2005. My son was in Iraq from 2005 thru the later part of 2007 and the credit card was for a local airlines. I told them I would find out and get back to them, but I needed more information. At that point, the "woman" and I use that term loosely, told me "thank you very much for wasting her time" and hung up the phone. I called back and asked to speak to a manager and the girl that answered said she was the manager (her name was Michele) and I explained the situation to her and she said "what was wrong with her saying that?". These people are rude and obnoxious!...be careful!

This number called a few times today. Was busy and couldn't answer. Did a net search to find origin's location so that I could see if it was anyone I knew. Ended up on this site.

i have not picked it up, but it is the area code for the town we just moved to. the thing is, we don't know anyone here. everyone who would call us would have a 904 area code. random and weird.

Its a company trying to get people to pay back student loans because it is a subsidiary to Sallie Mae. They will garnish wages if a payment is not made. Because Sallie Mae is a federal company they can search your place of business by your social security number.

I think, with regard to the Greater Buckhead Chamber of Commerce, that their inept webmaster entered a dummy phone number for the employee listing, thinking that at some point s/he would get the correct number and enter it, and then never did. I can't imagine the CoC would be making these calls.

This number is associated with the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development in Washington, DC

The caller hung up before I could get to the phone and they didn't leave a voice message.  I looked it up online and 202 is Washington, DC.  A person on another Website said the number belongs to the Department of Justice, while someone else said it was a telemarketer.

I received a call on this number...and surprisingly, the caller ID showed my name rather than someone's. But when I took the call there was no response..!!! Strange..!!!

Had the same thing happen to me twice from the same # you posted.Checked the net to try to figure out where the hell a 402 area code was from and was lucky enough to find this site and your post.Also been getting a shitload of e-mails from "financial institutions" wanting to loan me money or take part in cash schemes from Kenya,Guyana and England.Even wrote to INTERPOL about it but got no response.Where the hell is Homeland Security when you need them ? If these two bit scammers can get away with this then immagine what a hostile foreign government is capable of doing in terms of cyber crimes.
